Returns & Refunds Policy

 

Alpha Doors (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to providing high-quality products and services. Due to the nature of garage doors, custom-made products, and trade supply, our returns and refunds policy is structured to comply with New Zealand consumer law while protecting against misuse.

1. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA)

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies. If a product supplied by us is faulty, not of acceptable quality, or does not meet its description, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with the Act.

2. Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds or returns for change of mind, incorrect selection, or no longer required items.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Ordering the wrong product

  • Deciding the product is no longer needed

  • Colour, appearance, or size preference after purchase

3. Custom-Made & Special-Order Products

Many products supplied by Alpha Doors are custom-made or ordered specifically for the Client.

These products cannot be returned or refunded, except where required by law.

Custom or special-order items include:

  • Custom garage doors (all materials, sizes, colours, and configurations)

  • Doors or components manufactured to order

  • Products ordered in specifically at the Client’s request

Once production or ordering has commenced, cancellation is not possible.

4. Electrical & Mechanical Products

Garage door openers, motors, remotes, and electrical components:

  • Must be unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging to be eligible for any return consideration

  • Are not returnable once installed, wired, or programmed, unless faulty

Faulty electrical items will be assessed and handled in line with manufacturer warranty procedures.

5. Faulty or Damaged Goods

If you believe an item is faulty or damaged:

  • Notify us within 7 days of delivery or installation

  • Provide clear photos and a description of the issue

Where a fault is confirmed:

  • We may repair, replace, or refund at our discretion, in line with the CGA

  • Normal wear and tear, misuse, incorrect installation, or external damage are not considered faults

6. Installation & Labour

Labour, service call-outs, and installation work are non-refundable once carried out.

If an issue arises from installation work performed by Alpha Doors, we will remedy it in accordance with our workmanship warranty.

7. Returns Process (If Approved)

No items are to be returned without prior written approval.

If a return is approved:

  • Items must be returned at the Client’s cost

  • Items must be in original condition and packaging

  • A restocking fee may apply

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these conditions.

8. Shipping & Freight

Original shipping, freight, and delivery charges are non-refundable.

Any approved refunds will be processed excluding freight costs, unless required by law.

9. Business & Trade Purchases

Where products or services are supplied for business or trade purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, and all sales are considered final unless otherwise agreed in writing.
